Blip On The Radar

The lights are flashing; the atmosphere is pumped with vibes,
The young one is there, and he is starting to subscribe.

She sees him from afar, and whispers in his ear,
“Am I allowed to talk to you? Can you buy me a drink dear?”

He remembers her whisper, and remembers his mothers plea’s,
He remembers the trust he was put under, and the temptation he begins to see.

Time is beginning to tick, and he was meant to return much earlier,
The way he’s plummeted, like domino-induced failure.

The others aren’t wise either; they’ve pushed him into a hole,
Swept away in their company, with a hedonistic goal.

“Enjoy yourself bruv, GET IN THERE!! YOU’RE THE MAN!!
Allow your worries, relax have a toke, and take her back if you can.

They shout and chant with an intoxicated look,
With the same mouth the young used to read the holy book.

He was sat down, with the rest of them, much younger in retrospect,
Uttering such beauty and wisdom, although the voice not broken, and there wasn’t yet much intellect.

Now sucked into the vile disease that surrounds this society,
Much easier to divert the correct path, much harder to attain piety.

But once the light has entered the soul, it can grow in abundance,
Lets find this when we're young, so at the end we're not redundant.

The young one realises that this "pleasure" is there for the time being,
and he will begin to see the faults when older, but it will be too late for seeing.

The young ones have power in their hands, and they can influence this change,
The way I see it now, a misty fog over a city, from miles out of range.

Oh Almighty, bring out the sunshine and make us thrive,
I can see the destination ahead of me, I am waiting to arrive.
